Alghero is the most characteristic tourism center on the "Riviera of Coral", and its coast is rich with isolated cays, and small outcroppings that hide beaches crowned with pine groves, grooved cliffs bathed by an emerald-green sea.
The historical center of the city is one of the most interesting in Sardinia: founded around the year 1300, the city is characterized by the palaces, bastions, towers and gothic-aragon bell towers, testifying, in dialect, to the Catalan origin of the city.
