Guests are hereby informed that Hotel El Balear will close on October 31, 2009. The hotel is scheduled to re-open in March-April 2010. You will be informed in advance of any changes to the scheduled re-opening date
It is said that at the beginning of the last
century, a sailing vessel called the Balear sank along the coast of Alghero, along which, today,
the hotel from whom it takes is names rises up.

El Balear Hotel is the only Three Star hotel of Alghero along beach. Designed by the famous architect Antonio Simon Mossa, whose other works include the Palau de Valencia and the Escal del Cabirol, the hotel is located a short distance from the historic and commercial center of the city, about 400 meters distant passing along the Promenade Lungomare Dante from the catalan city of Alghero.

Crossing the promenade, one can reach, after 50 meters a small beach which faces a cement platform constructed in the cliffs.
